Race differences in intelligence: how research changed my mind to overcome the “all races are equal” dogma.

I grew up indoctrinated by political correctness. Like a large part of citizens in Western countries I was brainwashed: Races do not exist, all are equal. Saying anything different, saying that there are racial differences, is racism, a crime.

In school I heard disparaging remarks about Artur Jensen and other “unscientific” “dishonest” “cheating” scientists doing faulty research about race differences.

The Bell Curve by Richard Herrnstein and Charles Murray actually looked fairly convincing to me, but if even President Bill Clinton denounced it, there must be something wrong about it.

There always was some complex theory to explain away the IQ differences:

  • different culture
  • parental expectation
  • mother’s malnourishment
  • IQ measurements are racially and culturally biased

My opinion changed when I read about trans-racial adoption studies. That was the last drop that really disproved all these desperate attempts to explain away racial differences in intelligence.

“The best evidence for the genetic basis of race-IQ differences comes from trans-racial adoption studies of Oriental children, Black children, and Mixed-Race children. All these children have been adopted by White parents at an early age and have grown up in middle-class White homes.”

Chart 9 summarizes the results for Oriental children adopted into White middle-class homes.
Korean and Vietnamese babies from poor backgrounds, many of whom were malnourished, were adopted by White American and Belgian families. When they grew up, they excelled in school. The IQs of the adopted Oriental children were 10 or more points higher than the national average for the country they grew up in. Trans-racial adoption does not increase or decrease IQ. The three-way pattern of race differences in IQ remains.”

In plain English: adopted Asian babies grew up to be very bright, adopted black babies grew up to have low intelligence.

One more desperate argument that was posed to save the “racial equality” dogma:

They claimed “expectancy effects,” not genes, explained the pattern. They argued that the Black and White children were not treated the same. Even if parents took good care of their children, the schools, classmates, and society as a whole discriminated against Black children and this hurt their IQs. Because we expected Black children to do poorly in school, they lived up to our low expectations.”

Even that argument got promptly destroyed.  Rushton:

A special analysis of the Scarr study compared parents who believed that they had adopted a Black baby but, really, had adopted a Mixed-Race (Black-White) child. The average IQ for these Mixed-Race children was just about the same as for other Mixed-Race children and above that for adopted Black children. This was true even though the parents who adopted these Mixed-Race children thought their babies really had two Black parents.

That did it for me. It destroyed my ingrained indoctrinated beliefs that all races must be equal. It opened up my mind to the possibility that there could be racial differences.

  • Rushton, though much maligned, is not some crazy cook but one of the most prestigious research scientists to date: Rushton holds two doctorates from the University of London (Ph.D. and D.Sc) and is a Fellow of the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the American, British, and Canadian Psychological Associations. He is also a member of the Behavior Genetics Association, the Human Behavior and Evolution Society, and the Society for Neuroscience. Rushton has published six books and nearly 200 articles. In 1992 the Institute for Scientific Information ranked him the 22nd most published psychologist and the 11th most cited. Racial differences summarized (J.P. Rushton): Why does history show Africa trailing behind Asia and Europe? Why do Whites average between Orientals and Blacks in so many areas? Why do the groups with larger brains have lower rates of two-egg twinning? To know the answer you must look at all of the traits taken together (see Chart 1). The traits in Chart 1 form a pattern. No known environmental factor can explain all of them taken together. There is, however, a gene based explanation. The patterns make up what is called a “lifehistory.” They evolved together to meet the trials of life -- survival, growth, and reproduction.

Then of course, the non-scientific “evidence”, the hearsay, the anecdotal evidence, our daily experience, suddenly made sense:

The Whites who explored China were just as racist as those who explored Africa, but their descriptions were different from what they and the Arabs had written about Africans. In 1275 Marco Polo arrived in China from his native Italy to open trade with the Mongol Empire. He found that the Chinese had well built roads, bridges, cities connected by canals, census takers, markets, standardized weights and measures, and not only coins, but paper money as well. Even a postal system was in existence. All of these made him marvel when he compared the Chinese to what he saw in Europe and the Middle East.
Even though he was an Italian, proud of his people and well aware of the greatness of Ancient Rome, Marco Polo wrote: “Surely there is no more intelligent race on earth than the Chinese.”

In amazing ways, Rushton forms a coherent picture to make sense of all the racial differences shown in reasearch.  Some differences are biological and can not be talked away by simple psychobabble or sociology-babble.

In a few cases medical treatment and medication showed racial differences. which proves a real quagmire for race equality dogmatist. Should they talk away and hide the differences as racist and cause medical malpractice and suffering for black patients? Or should they accept the scientific facts and actively promote racial analysis of medical studies and see their beloved pet dogma undermined?

Rushton’s book sums up the relevant research. Please forgive me for always quoting Rushton, incessantly. Nobody can say it better, nobody summed up the entire field in a more concise and coherent manner then Rushton.

Many statistics in Chart 1 come from the United States, where Orientals are a “model minority.”
They have fewer divorces, fewer out-of-wedlock births, and fewer reports of child abuse than Whites.
More Orientals graduate from college and fewer go to prison.
On the other hand Blacks are 12% of the American population and make up 50% of the prison population. In the U.S., one out of every three Black men is either in jail, on probation, or awaiting trial. That is much more than the number who graduate from college.
Chapter 2 shows how this racial pattern in crime is found worldwide. INTERPOL Yearbooks show the rate of violent crime (murder, rape, and serious assault) is four times lower in Asian and Pacific Rim countries than in African and Caribbean countries. Whites in the United States and in European countries are intermediate. The 1996 INTERPOL violent crime rates clearly show this pattern: Asian countries, 35 violent crimes per 100,000 people; European countries, 42; and African countries, 149.
Chapter 2 also finds that Oriental children are slower to mature than White children while Black children are faster to mature. This is true for the rate of bone and tooth development and the age at which a child first sits, crawls, walks, and puts on clothing. Oriental children do not begin to walk until about 13 months, White children at 12 months, and Black children at 11 months.
Chapter 3 looks at racial differences in sexual activity. Orientals are the least sexually active, whether measured by age of first intercourse, intercourse frequency, or number of sexual partners. Blacks are the most active on all of these. Once again Whites are in between. These contrasts in sexual activity lead to differences in the rate of diseases like syphilis, gonorrhea, herpes, and chlamydia. There are high levels of AIDS in Africa, Black America, and the Caribbean and low levels in China and Japan. European countries again fall in between.
The races differ in rate of ovulation (Chapter 3). Not all women produce one egg during the menstrual cycle. When two or more eggs are produced at the same time, a pregnancy is more likely. So is the likelihood of producing fraternal twins (i.e., two-egg twins). The number of twins born is 16 out of every 1,000 births for Blacks, 8 out of every 1,000 births for Whites, and 4 or less for Orientals. Triplets and other multiple births are rarest in Orientals and highest in Blacks, with Whites in between.
Chapter 4 is about race and intelligence. Hundreds of studies on millions of people show a threeway pattern. IQ tests are often made to have an average score of 100, with a “normal” range from 85 to 115. Whites average from 100 to 103. Orientals in Asia and the U.S. tend to have higher scores, about 106, even though IQ tests were made for use in the Euro-American culture. Blacks in the U.S., the Caribbean, Britain, Canada, and in Africa average lower IQs — about 85. The lowest average IQs are found for sub-Saharan Africans — from 70 to 75.
Chapter 4 also looks at brain size. Bigger brains have more brain cells and this leads to higher IQs. The races vary in brain size. The Collaborative Perinatal Project followed more than 35,000 children from birth to seven years. Orientals had larger brains than Whites at birth, four months, one year, and seven years. Whites had larger brains than Blacks at all ages (see Chart 2). The data on adults in Chart 2 come from a sample of 6,325 U.S. Army personnel.
Chapter 5 asks whether differences in our brain size, our bodies and our behavior are because of genes, environment, or both. It also asks whether individual differences can tell us anything about race differences.

Chapter 6 discusses the gene based “life-history theory” I have proposed to explain the racial pattern in brain size, intelligence, and other traits. Evolutionary biologists call it the r-K scale of reproductive strategies. At one end of this scale are r-strategies that rely on high reproductive rates. At the other end are K-strategies that rely on high levels of parental care. This scale is generally used to compare the life histories of different species of animals. I have used it to explain the smaller but real differences between the human races.

On this scale, Orientals are more K-selected than Whites, while Whites are more K-selected than Blacks. Highly K-selected women produce fewer eggs (and have bigger brains) than r-selected women. Highly K-selected men invest time and energy in their children rather than the pursuit of sexual thrills. They are “dads” rather than “cads.”

Chapter 7 shows that the race differences in reproductive strategies make sense in terms of human evolution. Modern humans evolved in Africa about 200,000 years ago. Africans and non-Africans then split about 100,000 years ago. Orientals and Whites split about 40,000 years ago.

The more north the people went “Out of Africa,” the harder it was to get food, gain shelter, make clothes, and raise children. So the groups that evolved into today’s Whites and Orientals needed larger brains, more family stability, and a longer life. But building a bigger brain takes time and energy during a person’s development. So, these changes were balanced by slower rates of growth, lower levels of sex hormones, less aggression, and less sexual activity.

Why? Because Africa, Europe, and Asia had very different climates and geographies that called for different skills, resource usage, and lifestyles. Blacks evolved in a tropical climate which contrasted with the cooler one of Europe in which Whites evolved and even more so with the cold Arctic lands where Orientals evolved.

Because intelligence increased the chances of survival in harsh winter environments, the groups that left Africa had to evolve greater intelligence and family stability. This called for larger brains, slower growth rates, lower hormone levels, less sexual potency, less aggression, and less impulsivity. Advanced planning, self-control, rule-following, and longevity all increased in the non-Africans.

I realize that these topics are controversial and that readers will have many questions. Chapter 8 lists the questions I am most asked about Race, Evolution, and Behavior, and my answers to them.


Race is more than “just skin deep.” The pattern of Oriental-White-Black differences is found across history, geographic boundaries, and political-economic systems. It proves the biological reality of race. Theories based only on culture cannot explain all the data shown in Chart 1. The next three chapters describe the scientific findings on race differences (summarized in Chart 1) in greater detail. Later chapters explain why these differences follow such a pattern.

  1. point is bell curve shows normal distributions which can not be used to determine genes. normal distributions are used for general characterictics not specific ones. normal distributions are used in theoretical sciences and social siences such as Sociology and statistics but they are not used in exact sciences like biology, physics or genetics because they give wrong information.
    if blacks are genetically stupid then the 0,1% ‘with mensa IQ’ are not black, because their black gene would make them stupid, but this is not true because we know they are black therefore stupidity is not governed by blackness simply because there are people who are black but not stupid.
    the argument that blacks with mensa IQ have more white genes dont make sense, because if they have mensa IQ, that means they are more ‘intelligent’ than 98% of white people which is virtually every white person thats like arguing that diluted orange juice is sweeter than 100% orange juice because diluted orange juice have some orange juice in it, white should simply have higher IQ than partial white

    1. Mensa’s IQ of 130 is 4 standard deviations above an African mean IQ of 70. Virtually no one reaches that level. This seems to coincide with the fact that sub-saharan Africans tend not to earn Nobel Prizes in STEM fields, nor become chess grand masters. Ashkenazi Jews, with mean IQ of 115, on the other hand won 30% of this millenium’s non-peace Nobel prizes. All this happens to confirm the IQ test results as good predictors of worldly intellectual success. I believe this is called “concurrent validity”

    In terms of cultural achievements, Europeans should either be very-high or else Asians medium, correct?

    This article assumes that IQ is an accurate measure of intelligence. It is certainly accurate of certain TYPES of intelligence. However, IQ testing is not a good measure for “big picture thinkers”/deductive learners. These individuals tend to be more innovative, creative, analytical, and good with strategies and social/emotional intelligence. Europeans are most commonly associated with having these traits.

    *It is important to note that technology advancement has the potential to be either very good or very bad depending on how it is implemented.

    On the other hand, inductive learners tend to be better with details, data compilation, focus, memorization, and precision. For example, these type of learners are good at checking for accuracy, carrying out the tasks for projects and ensuring completion, and doing tasks which require high attention to detail and heavy focus. To my knowledge, Asians are most commonly associated with having the highest ability of these traits.

    Both of these intelligence types are essential and these different types of learners would likely work very well together. This highlights the importance of collaboration.

  3. you can not use averages to explain genetic traits. eg a pure white couple will have pure white children 100% of the time not MOST OF THE TIME 100%!, because being white is based on genes!. therefore you cannot say blacks are genetically stupid because the majority of them are stupid, that does not make sense. if blacks are genetically stupid, they should be 100%, because you cannot out do your genes. so whoever supports that blacks are genetically stupid, then they have to explain what is wrong with those few that joined mensa, are they mentally defective?

And 0.1% of US Blacks have mensa IQ, 3 Standard deviations of their mean of 85. And these Blacks tend to have more white genes, like 50% white Obama.

    1. Great to see an intelligent black scientist. He is probably the one in a million capable Black physician. But you will not find them as numerously as in Europe, or Israel. And I don’t expect an African to reach Nobel Prize level in medicine or any STEM field.

      Some of your stories are invented by PC. Some of your ideas could be true, had they not been proven wrong by studes of identical twins reared apart or transracial adoption studies.

    It’s completely irrelevant who solves diseases or develops vaccines. What racists like you fail to understand is that when talking about human intelligence, we’re talking about equal capacity or equal potential, not who is doing what at any particular time in history. We can look back in history to times when Europeans were some of the least scientifically and mathematically astute people on the planet. Often times Europeans were literally thousands of years behind other cultures in terms of math, science, engineering and culture. So you have no idea what Kenyatta University will be doing in the future. The key point is that they have the same intellectual capacity as anyone else and they have the potential to do what anyone else is doing.

    Europeans are vastly more aggressive than Africans and they have far less impulse control than Africans.

    Europeans are more sexually promiscuous than Africans. In fact Europeans are into all sorts of weird and deviant sexual practices that Africans find abominable. For example, go to Bing images and search “bestiality.” Those are all white men and women fucking all kinds of animals. You won’t find a single black person engaged in similar activities.

    There is far greater marriage stability among black Africans than white Europeans.

    Whites have higher testosterone concentrations than blacks. Have you ever seen a black man with hair on his back and shoulders? Nope. But some whites are nearly as hairy as monkeys. Testosterone is positively correlated with body hair.

    There’s absolutely no evidence that whites are more intelligent than blacks. Take this page for example. Most of the white posters are profoundly stupid, including the moderator.

    Cultural achievements are subjective and depend on when in history you look. Just 200 years ago, European “plumbing” consisted of emptying out chamberpots filled with feces and urine out of windows and onto people’s heads. European “medicine” consisted of bleedings and talking nonsense about humors. Europeans were in caves and mud huts while advanced ancient civilizations existed elsewhere. That’s why there isn’t a single ancient structure in Northwestern Europe.

    There’s no credible evidence that blacks have smaller brains on average than whites and Asians. If I had to guess I’d say that blacks have the largest brains on average.

    Black Africans have better mental health than white Europeans. Despite medicating themselves into stupors with psyche drugs (which Africans do not do) Europeans still generally are constantly on the verge of suicide (which is rare among black Africans).

    All your other data is a study in the most ignorant form of junk pseudoscience. You’re a racist and a moron. I can prove and document with credible evidence everything I wrote. You can’t make the same claim. Your sources are discredited racist quacks who have been shunned and censured by the scientific and academic communities.

  7. There may be a dearth of black physicists in the United States. But if you look at, for example, at the School of Applied and Pure Sciences at Kenyetta University in Kenya, the entire faculty and student body is black.

    Dumb white racists just can’t seem to figure out that black Americans do not represent all the black people in the world.

      It is strange, though, that no one suggested Kenyetta University solve the Ebola disease and develop a vaccine. Everyone thought this was the duty of Europans and Americans to solve an African health problem.

      Similarly, there seems to be no non-peace Nobel Laureate stemming from this University, while several top US University have dozens of Nobel Prize winners.

  9. I have two problems with this article.

    The first is that you imply that there is no race. This is not true. Your data above could be restated “People who evolved from Africa have A,B, and C; where as people from Brazil have D, E, and F.” But race really doesn’t exist. Race is simply a way that we, have categorized groups of people in order to make it easier for statistical purposes and other reasons (take the U.S. Census Bureau for example.)

    The second is that I can’t help but not believe you when you eloquently state that you are not a hater of Africans. Why then do you not have a category for “mixed race – Caucasian and Oriental” or any other smaller groups?

    Good read, good research, but to me it only explains that people who have evolved from other parts of the planet have different characteristics.

      There are hundreds of mixed race groups. Their IQ is usually in between the pure bred races. Most successful “Blacks” havd 50% or more white blood, like Obama, Holder, etc. Thus their expected mean IQ is higher than the IQ of pure African Blacks. Even in Haiti, the elite among Blacks are the lighter blacks.

    A Possible Solution for the So-called “Black Problem.”

    The problem: The black community has much higher crime rates than other ethnic groups, generally more negative health outcomes especially STD rates, more violence including homicide, more children in one parent homes, etc. This population also experiences a lack of good things, such as graduation rates, incomes above the median, marriage before children, and general good health. This will be confirmed by almost every search that you do on the internet. The only differences in such searches will be in the areas of causes and blame.

    There is only one theory that covers and is supported by almost all information. That theory is lead in the environment as a primary though not exclusive source of these problems.     Not only does lead cause problems with aggression, and impulse control, but it adversely affects many aspects of human health as well as neurological processes that result in, among other things, lower IQ and shorter attention span. Lead exists in much higher concentrations in our inner cities. You know, those places where blacks had to live because of redlining and other forms of systematic racial discrimination by all levels of government. Lead makes all people SICK!! It makes them sick both mentally and physically.

    As the lead levels in the blood and bodies of blacks and whites has converged, so has their homicide and other crime rates, as well as their measured intellectual behaviors, scholastic achievements, and levels of health.

    A Solution: Clean up the lead in our homes and cities. All that lead that was in gasoline did not disappear when lead was removed from gasoline. It now resides in our inner cities on our streets, playgrounds and yards, and in the ground near the streets and highways where cars using leaded gasoline drove for so many years. Those who profited from lead-based products or made and sold products that contained lead should foot the bill for removing this health hazard from our environment, and compensating those who were injured by that neurotoxin.
    By showing that lead is a fundamental cause of current problems you have something that can be addressed on both an environmental and individual basis. Those who have been poisoned by lead can be compensated. A basis for a tort claim for damage from lead could be as simple as measuring lead concentrations in blood (mcg/dL – 5) (times years in prison+1) or a similar formula. Governments that, via various policies such as redlining, forced blacks into more toxic environments, should also help with the compensation for damages. By the way, this compensation applies to all people affected by corporate and government poisoning of its citizens. A poisoning that was done for profit. Blacks will benefit more because government policies did, and still do, more adversely affect blacks than those of other races.

    Don’t want to deal with an environment poisoned by lead? That is too bad, because you will. To quote Richard Feynman, “Nature can not be fooled.” And she always has the last word. Either pay now to clean up, or pay later in higher incarceration rates, higher rates of crime, and less productive citizens with more illness.

    There are many factors contributing to society’s ills that are complex and not easily or quickly addressed. We can do something about lead poisoning in our communities right now and have a positive impact on individuals, families, neighborhoods, cities, and our nation.

    Think about it. Do something about it. Don’t blame; FIX!! Excess lead harms everyone directly or indirectly.

Do you think that australian aborigines and sub-saharan Africans suffer especially high rates of lead poisoning? And Japanese, Chinese and especially Jews somehow escape lead poisoning?   11. Please consider the impact of lead on neurology. Compare levels of lead in blacks and non-blacks, then add in epigenetics, and historical racism.

    Consider the lack of difference in IQ of the children of German mothers and white and black soldiers. (and why this is not relevant)

    Notice how as lead levels of Blacks has converged with that of whites, that the reported differences had also decreased. This is likely NOT a coincidence.

      What you definitely won’t see elsewhere is an explanation of the most likely reason for this racial imbalance: IQ. To be allowed to enlist, you have to score 92 or higher on the military’s IQ test, the Armed Forces Qualification Test (the same one used throughout The Bell Curve.) Since 1992, only 1% of new military enlistees have had IQs below the 30th percentile nationally. This requirement disqualifies about half of all Hispanics and over 60% of all blacks from joining up, versus less than a quarter of all whites.>

      Okay, but even if we followed Dr. Putnam’s implicit advice and imposed martial law on America, we still wouldn’t be able to follow what is the secret to the military’s success: artificially eliminate the majority of the racial IQ gap by using an IQ-based admissions test.

      It’s crucial to remember that, until very recently due to Iraq, three out of ten American youths, and a higher proportion of minority youths, were ineligible for service in the military due to low IQs. This means that the benefits of military acculturation are unavailable to those who presumably need them the most. Last year I proposed an alternative to military service for kids who think they could benefit from military discipline but aren’t smart enough to pass the AFQT.

  12. Blacks don’t need PC to hate whites. Just being second-class citizens will do. IMO eugenics is the most inhuman atrocity which was itself responsible for the Holocaust (though Hitler wasn’t an eugenist himself, he borrowed ideas American eugenists had to get rid of blacks) and of course, apartheid. Nature can’t help but be inmoral since it’s not a living being (not to mention the universe has no concept of morality), but for humans to imitate nature intentionally is doubly inmoral. The whole idea of evolution through genetic determination and death is inmoral and the root of most evil in humanity. Finding policies based on truth won’t solve the problems, it will merely justify the current apartheid-lite and wage slavery we have now, or make them even worse.
    We are still a couple of decades away to be able to do genetic engineering in humans, hopefully they can work out the kinks. It has its risks, but it’s the most ethical alternative, and it’s based on truth. Unfortunately it seems that the genetic researchers are more interested in killing embryos than in fixing them. Not to mention the current practice of creating more embryos than necessary then freezing them and eventually destroy them.

Of course, since aborting babies and killing embryos is now PC (thanks idiotic leftists) they can do it without sending people to gas chambers. But it’s still the “final solution”. The same goes from everyone whoever wrote this article and all the “race realists” who want to help Africa with apartheid. I’d rather just let Africans do what they want. Ironically the “race realists”, intentionally or not, are advocating the same crimes as the overt racists of the 19th and 20th centuries. The PC dogma ultimately helped more the blacks than anything else in history, allowing them to at least live like humans during the last few decades. It’s no solution either but a decent stopgap until the root problem, which is Darwinian evolution, gets fixed.
    The real solution would be to no longer be enslaved by our genes, but that is so far away by that point blacks, latinos, maybe even whites may be already extinct, thanks to Jensen, Rushton and most of its successors who are more interested in slaving and killing people than in getting rid of our genetic shackles.

The more able ones had more offspring. And now it has been clearly inverted. Look at Africa, no roads, no brick or stone buildings, no domesticated animals, no writing… Zanzibar is just off the coast of Tanzania but was discovered by Sri Lancans from several thousand miles away, the blacks could even think to build a boat.

Is there anyone who associates with another because their parents have more in common?     Lastly, as someone who does research for a living, finding data clusters isn’t interesting per se. Some degree covariance between any two factors chosen at random is almost a given. For me, the question is, what is the meritocratic reasoning for distinguishing on the basis for race rather than infinite other factors and the biological ambiguity of race denominations. Moreover, why the focus on race, when if we wanted to discriminate on the basis of intelligence, whites should consider some Africans as more closely related than other whites.

    With respect to political correctness, I hope as many studies are carried out on the matter by as many scientists as possible.   19. I have read Rushton’s unabridged publications, and I do agree with what the blog concludes and denotes.
    First of all, this has NOTHING to do with superiority. It is very obvious race differences that show up significantly (and consistently) on large meta-analyses of IQ tests data.
    Secondly, these race differences simply show how evolution works. It shows which strategy is the most successful upon thousands of years of natural selection. For the Ashkenazis and East Asians, that means to have higher IQ, and for the Africans, it means to have greater physical ability. Again, let me emphasize, it has nothing to do with superiority, it is simply how nature works. East Asians are mostly hairless, have the least natural muscular mass and development, are considerably of lesser height in comparison to the other races, and have larger cranial capacity. This strategy seemed to have work for those living in East Asia for thousands of years. Luckily and incidentally, now, at least in many fields of work and academics, this is advantageous for them. If the situation now demands more physical abilities to survive, they would be severely disadvantaged. In any sense, I don’t see any superiority in this. You only have one Jeremy Lin while most of the other players are African Americans or Whites. Please don’t be inclined to think that none of us East Asians want to be sportsmen as well, as there are just as many who do, and they have to work very hard just to get to the default fitness level of those of other races.

    Denying racial differences in itself is being racist. It’s like asking 1000 randomly sampled East Asians to go against 1000 randomly sampled Africans in the 100-meter run. Or a logical-spatial task derived from a standardized test. Just not fair.

    1. Both Rushton and Jensen passed away recently. Research on race differences will be hampered by the PC police. New researchers with similar attitudes and results are unlikely to be hired or to get tenure.

He does not THINK black people are stupid, rather he found, counter to his politically correct education and indoctrination, that blacks, on average, have a much lower IQ then Whites. He discounts the fact that at various times in history, the birth rate of black people and birth rate of whites were very similar to each other and doesn’t explained why “asians” as a group are generally smaller in body size proportions compared to “africans”, and the r-selection animals are generally smaller and K-selective animals are larger in body size.His climate hypothesis fails to account for why northern europeans did not developed advanced civilizations until their initial contacts with the romans and why don’t american indians have an IQ similar to that of ASIANS , despite being the closest genetically to people of north east asian descent. Brain size does not correlate with intelligence 100 percent .     If your objective is really to discover the truth about why their are social and cultural discrepancies between various populations, you wouldn’t used Rushton work as a source. Not because of the claim he attempts and fails to verify with science, but because he implements a shitty methodology that he uses to draw his conclusions. Plus, Rushton gets most of his funding from the pioneer fund, an organization whose presidents wanted to deport black people from america and who supported various other eugenic policies. You would view all of the scientific literature on the topic , you would view all of the literature that draws different conclusions from rushtons and those who have criticized Rushton’s methodology and conclusions as well. You just don’t used one shady source that draws the conclusions that you agree with and then call yourself ” scientifically objective”

      You seem to be honestly looking for truth and understanding. Most of your concerns are honest and valid but can be explained.

      The Pioneer fund was the only one that would fund him, all others actively discriminate against such politically incorrect research. Rushton publishes and highly prestigious scientific journals, this is only possible if your work is scientifically impeccable. Even more so if you have such unpopular results

      I was wondering about US native Indians, I think similar to Australian aborigines or other low IQ Asians, they must have had a different development. It just happens ……… or Rushton might have a better explanation.

      Cranial size vs IQ has a formula that relates relative cranial size to body size. It is not absolute size, or else elephants would have the highest IQ.

      Rushton managed to rebut his critics, he has major peer reviewed articles replying to Nisbett and Flynn, showing some maior raisin picking or omissions on their side. I quoted some of these articles, or look at his site or University page for his publications.

      Most race realists are not anti-Black. All has been tried, to no avail. If you can help to make prosperous law abiding intelligent inventive cultures similar to a Chinatown in Detroit, US inner cities, or in any African country, if you can stop the decline of Zimbabwe agriculture and law and order, or of South Africa, power to you. If you can create black schools in the US with the same success as Asian and white schools, you will be my hero. 50 or more years of US government effort failed to do so.

  25. I think, No I know this is “hog-wash”. I for one am Black, grew up poor in an “urban” area however I am also High-IQ depending on the test typically btw (127-132). I also have a child Black not mixed that has been identified as gifted, has an IQ high enough to qualify for Mensa and has been skipped a grade. That being said I think this study along with alot if not all standardized test ignore or do not give enough weight to environmental and socioeconomic factors. I’m a very visual thinker and remember an incident in a AP math class where I had difficulty with a set of word problems not because I didn’t understand the math concepts required but because I did not know what a trough was, by the time I got over my embarrassment and asked my teacher what it was he couldn’t believe that was the only question I needed answered to successfully complete the work and move on.
