Many women want to have a baby, but, for some reason, don’t find the appropriate man or husband. A man willing to the father and take on fatherly duties. The typical solution is to “forget” to take the pill or just let the man falsely assume she is taking birth control.

Advantages:

  2. No manipulation needed, no dishonesty about accidentally “forgotten birth control” to get pregnant against the man’s expressed wish
  3. female empowerment: the woman can have her wish, pick the father of her choice and have a baby.
      1. Most men would feel honored to be chosen as a father, without being obliged to support the baby nor having to get along with the woman for the next 20 years.
      2. many men would, voluntarily, by mutual agreement give some aid and support in child raising, in spite of the waiver.

    1. The party that took up the contractual obligation, mostly the mother. After all are women not empowered and independent? Don’t women have professions, salary, self sufficiency. Women did this for centuries and millennia, before the advent of liberated professional women and welfare.
    2. Welfare support. Government already pays support for children of deadbeat dads and moms in poverty. Why can’t they pay for the honest working tax paying father? Whoever took up the responsibility should pay him/herself, unless they are below poverty level.

    Let women pick the best father with the best genes! This is what females have done for hundreds of millions of years (yes, before humans).

    Research shows that attached women during their fertile phase are more seductive, earn more money if they are strippers, have more extra-marital sex then during other periods. All to shop for better genes. (check Robin Baker’s “Sperm Competition“). Cuckolding is an evolutionary design feature .

    		 Two people, both of which cannot control their urges and don’t have brains enough to do birth control correctly are probably not the best genetic inheritance for a common baby.

    It is taboo to mention eugenics. But nowadays, we have a negative selection: the lower classes, less educated, the less intelligent, get more offspring, mainly due to incapacity to correctly use birth control or to abstain when necessary.

      6. This would have the genetic effects of polygamy, without the negative social side effects (monopolization of women by the alpha males with a lower class of men that have no chance of getting partners).
      7. All this would allow a clearer differentiation between procreational and recreational sex.

    Being a desired child by a capacitated mother creates a good environment. Better then offspring from accidental unwanted pregnancies.

    Of course, a true harmonious family with father and mother is always better.

    On the one hand, there might be less abortions, because men would not pressure so much for abortion. If the woman desires to have the baby, let her have it and take responsibility for the baby.

    It is fully the woman’s choice, she is empowered. And the man is not the helpless victim of her choice, having his finances depend on her good will.

    On the other hand the woman may be more worried about being able to support the baby and have more abortions.

    Women might have less abortions if they know that the father is obliged to pay.

    Financial child support, at the price of forcibly taking money away from men

    Forcing an unwilling father to pay for decades creates at huge suffering for the father and his other family, if he has one or will start one.
    Gender Equality (by advance agreement)

    Women already can opt out of motherly obligations, by being able to choose abortion (or even better, secure and safer birth control then men have at their disposal.)

    According to our proposal men (or women) can opt out the same way by agreement before sex.

    		 Men have no choice, only obligation to pay.
    Even in married families, if the husband wants no more children, the wife can get more children if she assumes the entire financial responsibility. Of course, that will be complex if there are children the husband is obliged to support and others he is not obliged to support. But, if she has financial independence, it can be done.
