One woman among the top 100 chess players. But 40% quotas in management and parliament?

Why would women be chanceless against men even in Chess, Snooker and Darts? It does not involve fighting skills, physical prowess. The facts are clear, there are almost no women among the top players, even in these non-physical sports.

In Chess there is only one woman in the top 100. Judit Polgar, ranked #32, by far the strongest woman player with a score of 2710, never became woman’s world champion because she chose to only compete in men’s tournaments. The second rated woman, with a score of 2605 is way below the # 100 ranked man with 2652 points.
The Women’s World Chess Championship is played to determine the women’s world champion in chess. Like the World Chess Championship, it is administered by FIDE. Unlike most sports, women are able to compete against men in chess, and so some women do not compete for the women’s title. Notably, the world’s top rated female player, Judit Polgar, has never competed for the women’s title Greatest Women’s World Chess Champion
There are 2300 male Grand Masters and 22 female Grand Masters.

Maybe this patriarchal discrimination can be repaired by a quota system, by nominating 1500 women grand masters! All of Europe thinks this is a good system to get women into board rooms and political power 0 1 2.3, So why not do this in chess. We are sorry we can not restrain our sarcasm.
Women can not compete against men even in chess, snooker, go and darts. Top 10 women tennis players are chanceless against top 500 male players and can barely compete with male college players. Nevertheless women achieved equal pay for less play in Wimbledon and other top competitions.
Feminism, political correctness and the discredited and debunked blank slate theory interpret all natural, inborn differences as "discrimination" that needs to be corrected by affirmative action. Various countries enacted (or plan to enact) 30% to 50% quotas in parlament and for top executives. Under the guise of counteracting a long debunked "wage gap" such regulations and fear of "discrimination" law suits put women ahead of more qualified male competitors. And of course there are no female quotas on death row, in prison, among the homeless to equalize the "glass bottom".

In divorce, separation, or dissolution of a common law marriage, the woman will be the one to retain property of the house or apartment acquired with a government funded program "My House, My Life" that gives millions of low income citizens their first and only real estate property.
She did not determine how to discriminate in same sex Gay and Lesbian stable relationships, which are legal in Brazil.
President Dilma Rousseff will announce later, on public television, changes in the program "My house, my life" that will benefit women
The name "My house, my life" shows the extreme importance of a first hard earned house. And this will automatically go to the woman! Even in the case of a simple "stable relationship" with no marriage, no children. Even if there is a pre-nup contract determining separation of property. Even if the relationship was short, even if the man exclusively paid for the house. There goes his dream in the name of equality for women
In the case of separation, divorce, or undoing of a stable long term relationship, the ownership title of the real estate acquired through "My House, My Life" will be given to the women, or transferred to her regardless of the marital property regime.
The new rule applies to families with income range of up to three minimum wages that hat 95% of the value of the property financed by the program. [...]

Nigel Robinson from Hull said he called police after trying to download music but instead finding pornographic images on his laptop last November. When his wife works late, as regularly happens, Mr Robinson’s daughter goes to his mother-in-law’s home.
Nigel Robinson can not be alone with his child. And his laptop taken away for a year. Quite disruptive.

Justice commissioner Viviane Reding says equality will take another 40 years without tough action

Harriet Harman, the feminist Minister for Women and Equality in the UK has been recommended by the Office Of National Statistics to present “gender wage gap” statistics differently in this report in order to give the figures in a fairer light. There is more evidence that her use of statistics are causing consternation in Whitehall. Previously to this, Ms. Harman has claimed that ”on average women are paid 22.6% per hour less than men”. However, this figure is based on total hours worked by both sexes – but does take into account the actual amount of hours worked by women.
From the Office Of National Statistics report (emphasis mine) ;-
The measure for all employees showed a pay difference of 22.5 percent in favour of men and the pay difference for full-timers was 12.8 per cent in April 2008. When looking at part-time employees, the difference was -3.5 per cent, meaning that part-time men were paid less on average than part-time women.
However, Ms. Harman’s own Equality and Human Rights Commission continues unabated with their own investigation on how best to provide the figures for public consumption.

Wage gap is due to individual choices of men and women and to laws of supply and demand
Men choose to earn more, women choose to have more time and a better life. Never married women without children make choices like men, and thus earn more then men.
There is more demand for women engineering graduates, therefor they earn 115% of what men earn. The demand for women engineers is artificially greater due to fears of anti-discrimination lawsuits. Male models make 20% of what female models make, because there is not much demand for male models. Should affirmative action and "fair pay act" be applied to get equal pay for models and beauty contestants? Trash collectors (mainly male) make more then Wal-Mart sales persons (mainly female). It is not sexism, but supply and demand. Women tend to opt out of dangerous unpleasant jobs, long work hours, long commuting, moving to Alaska for job advancement, etc..
We may need legislation to help men to earn as much as women, when they make the same decisions.

The movie industry, record industry, and yes, the porn industry have some legitimate concern about illegal unpaid downloading of their intellectual property. Unfortunately, they try to stem the tide by draconian punishment for minor crimes like downloading. Dangerously, industry interests coax politicians to enact overcriminalization laws that seriously hamper internet freedom and mete out harsh prison sentences, like SOPA in the US and ACTA in Europe.

Interestingly, we had similar problems when Gutenberg invented printing, when the shellac record was invented, with advent of the copying machine, the tape recorder etc.
When we download something we really like, we would love to pay for it. Unfortunately we don’t know how. An easy mechanism for voluntary pay should be created. Furthermore, many countries introduced a tax on blank DVD, CD, copying machines, DVD recording machines that was to be used exclusively to pay off copyright owners. As a solution to the copyright dilemma, a similar monthly tax has been proposed on computer equipment. Harsh but much better then criminalization of an entire population and internet surveillance.
Human-Stupidity, tongue in cheek, wonders if these taxes are evenly passed on the the porn industry, which disproportionately suffers from illegal copying.
We also want to remember that it is morally unjust and illicit money grabbing, when copyright owners charge the SAME prices for downloads (that cost almost nothing) then for physical CD and shellac disks that entail huge production, transport, distribution and storage cost. This is the same as if we were charged the same price for books as they cost when someone had to copy them in hand-writing, before the advent of printing. Prices ought to drop considerably due to technical progress.

James Hooker is the target of a vindictive vendeetta. Not by Hooker’s wife, but by the girl’s mother.
Tammie Powers said her daughter, Jordan, has known Hooker since her freshman year at James Enochs High School. She said the two exchanged a flood of text messages and phone calls the day after Jordan’s 18th birthday on Sept. 5.
Tammie Powers said she had also obtained evidence that the two were corresponding regularly before Jordan began her senior year and she believes Hooker has committed a crime.
"That’s pursuit, in my opinion, with some type of intent," she said.

Again, avoiding sex with under 18 year olds is not enough. One should not even text or phone with her. Mr. Antifeminist you are so right! The law is not just concerned with "protecting" 17 year olds from having sex.
Still, Hooker claims he has no regrets. In an interview with Good Morning America, he shut down Tammie’s accusations as a "pack of lies" and said of his new love, "we really do want to have a future together."

I hope Mr. Hooker is also fully aware that he is totally in the hands of his young lover. If, during the next 4 years (statute of limitations) she claims she was coerced to lie and in reality they had sex while she was under 18 and/or his student, his life is over. There is no due process in such accusations, so there is almost no defense in case she accuses him. It does not matter if the accusation is true or a malicious lie.

Disney retools obesity exhibit after National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance’s protest

Finally, Disney joins efforts to reduce the deadly childhood obesity. But fat acceptance is more important than our children’s health and survival.
The interactive exhibit, Habit Heroes, featured animated fitness superheroes Will Power and Callie Stenics and super-sized villains Snacker and Lead Bottom, who eat junk food and watch too much television. Critics said the exhibit reinforces stereotypes that obese children are lazy and have poor eating habits.
The few hormonally disturbed fat children as an excuse for the 95% children that ARE lazy and have POOR eating habits.

Doctors say obesity can sometimes be attributed to genetics and certain medications, and food can be used as a coping mechanism. "We’re appalled to learn that Disney, a traditional hallmark of childhood happiness and joy, has fallen under the shadow of negativity and discrimination," the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance said in a statement. 1
Well, maybe shaming could help prevent the use of food as coping mechanism. Tough love, shaming and strong pressure to eat right could probably save lots of children and adults from a life of fatness and ill health. Yes, adults also should be pressured to mend their unhealthy ways, improve their own health, and give positive examples to children.

We understand the complexity of the issues and that negativity can cause problems. Still, a world wide epidemic that is destroying the health and the health budget of entire nations world wide needs strong measures and not wimpy political correctness. Human-Stupidity wants to truly protect children and their health.
We have always suggested that child food porn (junk food in deed and pictures deceptively posing as true food) is more dangerous then child porn. The former really kills children and reduces life expectancy of Millions, while the latter is mainly hysteria. So draconian measures against anything that seduces our innocent and ignorant children to acquire bad eating and exercising habits should be banned and punished. Well, at least it should be counter-acted by strong health-positive propaganda.

5 year old children are totally incapable of making informed decision about ingestion of junk food. The kid is not to blame. The kid is a victim of irresponsible adults.Adults are 100% to blame for the sorry state of this kid, condemned to a life of obesity.
Just making more excuses for fat people. 40 years ago, nobody was obese, or even really overweight. Nowadays, kids don’t go outside and play, eat terrible food, and blame it on some problem other than their unhealthy habits. And now they think its ok because everyone else is overweight. It’s amazing how fit younger people are now in the minority. 3
